1] At national Level, in 2016, the party changed the rules of debates to isolate Bernie Sanders to get Hilary elected as a nominee even though Bernie was a stronger candidate with a huge following in the young generation because he brought up issues that resonated with them. As a result, many voted for Trump because of shared issues. Again, the rules were changed to isolate Bernie and Tulsi in 2020. In summer 2024, the Establishment and its billionaire funders conducted a political coup to replace Joe Biden who was elected in the primaries with Kamala Harris.

2] While the MAGA machinery has reached out to other communities like Hispanics, Asians, Indians, etc., our party is very much focused on white & black especially ODP and CCDP. It was so difficult to get Obama elected in 2012 in Ohio because his agenda allowed males in female restrooms. I visited more than 100 black churches; the message was the same. They were going to vote with their feet. I did a series of voter registrations in our temples; I set up Sikhs for Democrats NEO chapter to mobilize new communities, organize events, but we were never accepted.

That's a lot to process with a lot to change. I ran twice and lost twice. I believe that it was me not the process. I didn't work hard enough and I didn't convey my message as well as I believe I could have. The endorsement of the party didn't help me at all. I'm not sure that helps people in a primary.

We do need to change. We need to start coming out with one voice. Unfortunately I feel the Republicans do that better than the Democrats.

I'm hoping to change that from the ground up in our club. But we're only one club. Working with the other area clubs has been a great help and support.

I do not understand. You do not agree with the assessment? IF you do not agree that the thumbs on scales tilt primaries, and that there are walled gardens for participation then what do you think we need to change?

After voting in the Democrat primary, I seriously asked myself, “was that really worth it?”

Parties should not be endorsing at the primary level, full stop! Money, that will be needed for the general election, should never be spent on the primary and those who have money should only be spending it on promotion and campaign materials.

Money in politics is already unsustainable and it’s getting worse.

As a registered Democrat, I feel insulted by the party telling me who to vote for at the primary level and telling me who is endorsed by whom. I’m a grown ass man and I’m informed.

The party doesn’t dare tell me who to vote for and they can take their sample ballots for the primary and shove them up their asses. Save them for the general election when they’ll be needed.
